Your privacy is important to us. It is FulMed.org’s policy to respect your privacy and comply with any applicable law and regulation regarding any personal information we may collect about you, including across our website, https://fulmed.org, and other sites we own and operate.

The privacy statement describes the type of information that we collect on our website www.fumled.org or the application portal www.apply.fulmed.org, how we process it, with whom such data is shared, the security of your data, the choice you can make about your information, and how you can contact us about the privacy practices. This policy is effective as of 25 May 2022 and was last updated on 25 May 2022.

Section I - Information We Collect

Information we collect includes both information you knowingly and actively provide us when using or participating in any of our services, registering and submitting applications on our applicant portal and promotions, and any information automatically sent by your devices while accessing our products and services. This information includes:

1. Registration Data

To be able to register on our application portal to submit the scholarship application, you are obliged to provide your email address and create a username and password. Without these data fields, you will not be able to complete the registration.

2. Scholarship Application Data

As a part of the application process, the FulMed.org collects the following personal data for evaluation of your application:

  1. Name
  2. Address
  3. Email address
  4. Phone number
  5. Birthday
  6. Educational background/Qualifications
  7. Employment history
  8. Personal & Professional activity history (Volunteer experiences, Research experiences)
  9. Research Interests
  10. Statement of purpose
  11. Any additional information that you voluntarily provide

  1. To process your scholarship application
  2. To evaluate your academic and professional profile to evaluate your basis for scholarship
  3. To administer scholarship
  4. To contact you for updates and processing of your application and further information if required
  5. To contact you for new scholarships
  6. For proper operation and improvement of this website
  7. To enable you to customize or personalize your experience of our website
  8. To consider your application for a job
  9. To consider your application for a volunteer opportunity
  10. For internal record keeping and administrative purposes

We may also collect personal information from you when you do any of the following on our website:

  2. Contact us via email, social media, or on any similar technologies

Section IIb - Log Data

Section IIc - Legitimate Reasons for Processing Your Personal Information

We only collect and use your personal information when we have a legitimate reason for doing so. In which instance, we only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to provide our services to you. As for the application data, the legal basis for processing your data is set out in section I i.e., for the determination of merit for the scholarship for which you are applying.

As for the registration data, the legal basis for processing such data is set out in section I i.e., for purpose of operating and enabling the use of the website, account creation, and application submission.

Section III - Security of Your Personal Information

When we collect and process personal information, and while we retain this information, we will protect it within commercially acceptable means to prevent loss and theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification.

Although we will do our best to protect the personal information you provide to us, we advise that no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and no one can guarantee absolute data security. We will comply with laws applicable to us in respect of any data breach. You are responsible for selecting any password and its overall security strength, ensuring the security of your own information within the bounds of our services.

Section IV - How Long We Keep Your Personal Information

When you apply for a scholarship, we keep your application data as long as it is necessary for us to complete the scholarship administration process unless there is any other legal basis for continued storage and processing of your data. This time period may depend on what we are using your information for, in accordance with this privacy policy. If your personal information is no longer required, we will delete it or make it anonymous by removing all details that identify you.

Your registration data is stored and processed by us until you close your account unless any other legal basis for continued storage and processing of data exists. Please note that, in case you close your account, you will no longer be able to access the full functionalities of the website including viewing and reviewing your profile, your submitted applications, and documents.

However, if necessary, we may retain your personal information for our compliance with a legal, accounting, or reporting obligation or for archiving purposes in the public interest, scientific, or historical research purposes, or statistical purposes.

Section V - Children’s Privacy

We do not aim any of our products or services directly at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information about children under 13.

Section VI - International Transfers of Personal Information

The personal information we collect is stored and/or processed where we or our partners, affiliates, and third-party providers maintain facilities. Please be aware that the locations to which we store, process, or transfer your personal information may not have the same data protection laws as the country in which you initially provided the information.
